ABOUT ART THERAPY.
Art Therapy is a form of psychotherapy which, through the creative art making process and exploring meaning, can improve a person’s wellbeing, recognise patterns, thoughts and feelings, reduce stress, improve self-esteem and expand consciousness and self reflection.
Unlike studio art, where technique and the end product is the focus, in art therapy the process of creating is more important than the end result. You don't have to be an artist to benefit from art therapy. It is much more about the journey, rather than the final outcome.
We operate with a Transpersonal approach to art therapy -‘Transpersonal’ is a psychological approach which extends beyond traditional psychology to include mind, body & soul, as well as gaining a deeper sense of who we are, a greater sense of connectedness with others, nature, and/or spirituality. Looking beyond the masks we wear, discovering our inner selves.
Exhale Art Therapy sessions allow the participant a safe space to discover and explore their conscious and unconscious thoughts, feelings and values through use of creative expression and a variety of artistic mediums.
We aim to help and inspire our clients to discover their own inner wisdom, source of healing, strength and happiness. Guiding participants to go beyond what was their ‘normal’ giving them a greater sense of meaning and purpose in their life, the ability to reach their full potential and living truer to their authentic self.
